Extreme Kustoms newest, badest, strongest "Balls To The Wall" Custom Mercury Frame with our cutting edge Air Ride Suspension!
This frame was specially designed and build for Super High horsepower 1949, 1950, 1951 Mercury’s by Rick Erickson, owner of Extreme Kustoms.

We start off with a good, stock Mercury frame that we media blast to virgin steel. We then put the frame in our frame rack to check and correct, if needed, all its critical dimensions. Then we fabricate and weld all the new frame reinforcements and suspension brackets, including all of the factory frame seams. This makes an extremely rigid frame.

Next we install our own designed 4130 chromolly tubular upper and lower A-Arms. They are connected to forged steel spindle uprights with 4130 chromolly steel spindles by late model GM light truck ball joints (Super Strong). We now install our 8.5" diameter cutting edge air bags. After this is completed we install a new super stock racing style 14 to 1 variable ratio power steering box with all new drag link, tie rods, and ends, etc. There is no inferior power rack used here. This frame comes with a super heavy duty sway bar and high performance gas shocks, resulting in road carving suspension geometry that is very stable in its full 9 inches of up and down wheel travel.

Now it’s time to install the professionally built 9" Ford Posi-Traction rear axle with the customer’s choice of gear ratios. We then install our own designed 4130 chromolly square tubing ladder bars and our cutting edge 8" diameter air bags, with high performance gas shocks. This allows for a very effective working rear suspension capable of putting tons of horsepower to the pavement, still having a full 8.5 inches of up and down wheel travel. 
With this frame your Merc will handle like a new car, yet will be able to lower the frame rails to the ground, or if needed, raise up over 8.5 inches. I’d like to see one of those big frame manufacturers or air ride companies match this!! The Frame is then epoxy painted gloss black. The suspension parts are painted champagne epoxy.

We have several different levels of performance brakes available, including specially designed 12.25" diameter rotors with 4 piston calipers that will clear most 15" steel rims.
